Ideal for large-volume production, flexographic (flexo) printing uses analog printing plates made of a specialty polymer to transfer ink.
The plates are mounted inline on a flexo press, generally equipped with 4-10 print stations. Each plate is mounted in its own print station and is responsible for printing a single color.
The print stations usually include the CMYK colors (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black) as well as other spot colors designed to match the customer's color requirements exactly.
Composite images are built as the label substrate material that is being printed progresses from one print station to the next.
Flexo printing is used on a wide range of label print jobs.
All ID Technology label plants can supply high-quality flexographic printed labels combined with exceptional service and quality.
